Where are you planning to watch the Super Bowl?

Where are you planning to watch the Super Bowl?

Personally, I haven't decided. But as a Kaepernick/Harbaugh/49ers fan, I’m pretty excited for the Super Bowl this Sunday, and these are the party options topping my list so far.

Squaw Valley

The weather looks to be sunny and warm, making the party at the base of Squaw appealing. I’m not sure what a 49-panel “Diamond Vision” screen is, but it’s at the newly upgraded KT Base Bar, and it’s huge (16 x 21 feet).

Squaw’s got festivities planned throughout the day, including giveaways and promotions before, during, and after the game. Sounds like a sweet place to find yourself after a day of skiing, especially if you can get there early to claim a spot by one of the fire pits.

In-Town Options

For those who want to stick closer to town, Fifty Fifty Brewing Company and The Tourist Club are both planning Super Bowl parties, with drink specials and giveaways.

You can watch the game on Fifty Fifty’s 105" screen while enjoying $3 beer specials, game day food specials, and a raffle with cool prizes. Similarly, The Tourist Club is offering $2 draft beers, free food, and a hot dog eating contest at half time. For every drink you buy, you’ll be entered into raffles for lift tickets, gift certificates, and good ol’ fashioned cash.

A few doors down, the Pastime Club will have the game on, a potluck, and a drink special or two. And both Bar of America and Blue Coyote expect a big turnout, although neither has any specials planned for the game.

Take Out/Stay Home

Feeling lazy and looking forward to watching the game on your own couch? Marty’s Café is offering awesome 1-foot ($15) and 2-foot ($30) deli hero carry-out deals. You get your choice of Italian (pepperoni, salami, mortadello, and swiss), Turkey (with caramelized onion, cucumber, and cranberry cream cheese), or the Café Philly Cheese Steak.  The 1-footer comes with choice of a side and two sodas, and the 2-footer comes with choice of two sides and four sodas.

I’m not sure if I want to cook up some chili and stay in or head out to one of these parties, but let me know what you are planning to do (or if you hear of any other great spots to watch the game).

Go Niners!
