Where: Historic Downtown Truckee
When: Thursday, June 13th; 5pm to 9pm
Truckee Thursdays is back! This outdoor street faire celebrates all things Truckee. There will be live music, a beer garden, a kid’s area, art, activities, and more. New to Truckee Thursdays this year is a corner stage located next to Moody’s Bistro Bar & Beats. This Thursday, the stage features Peter Joseph Burtt & the King Tide.
Reason to go: To hang out with locals before the tourists begin to swarm.
Reason not to go: You don’t have one if you live in Tahoe Donner, with the TD Association offering a free shuttle from Trout Creek to downtown all night long. Details here.

Best Excuse to Bust out Your ‘Fro Pick
What: 2nd Annual Soul Train Dance Party
Where: Bar of America, Truckee
When: Friday, June 14th; 9pm
Rambo Party Productions is bringing 1972 back in all its glory. “DRESS funky. ACT funky. BE funky. We are going to FUNK YOU TO DEATH,” or so they claim. Um, wow. Regardless, theme parties are always fun around here, and with four DJs - J Mancub, Big Perm, Dub Fyah and Ground$core – this might well be the best party of the week. More info here.
Reason to go: Lasers, lots of lasers.
Reason not to go: You’re headed to the free “Local Showcase of Music” with Mojo Green and Downbeat at the Crystal Bay Club; 9pm.

Best Way to Relive the Early ‘90s
What: No Duh – A No Doubt Tribute Band
Where: Crystal Bay Club, Sateline
When: Saturday, June 15th; 10pm
Lead by Gwen Stefani, No Doubt first hit the scene in the early 90's and they sold over 33 million records in their 15+ years of making hits. This Saturday, their "#1 tribute band in America" plays at the Crystal Bay Club. This is no half-stepping cover band either. Check 'em out.
Reason to go: Cause I’m just a girl, living in captivity…
Reason not to go: You took advantage of Boreal’s 4th Annual Summer Shred Day and rode Woodward’s summer snowboard camp set-up all day ($25, open to public).
Sunday, June 16th
Best Way to Hang with Pops
What: The Truckee RibFest & BBQ
Where: Tri Counties Bank Plaza, Truckee
When: Sunday, June 16th; 12pm to 4pm
This FREE event takes place at the Tri Counties Bank Plaza in Truckee, with live music from the Deckheads and Blues Callin’. Napa Auto parts and 4X4 of Truckee will host a Show-n-Shine so dad can come check out his favorite classic cars or even show off his old hot rod. Not to mention, you and pops can chow down on some delicious and savory BBQ ribs from the Auburn Barbecue Company and Taco Station, with additional treats from DreamWeiner hot dogs, Loon’s Lemonade, All Show Gelato & Italian Ice, Cheri’s Hand Dipped Ice Cream, and Truckee Host Lions Club Beer & Wine Garden.
Reason to go: You’ll make the ‘ol man happy. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
Reason not to go: Dad went to the Funk party at Bar of America last night and is still dizzy from all the lasers.
