Truckee Thursdays Means Summer is Here

The Downtown Event Kick Offs Today, June 13th

Truckee Thursdays is back and better than ever!

Nothing quite heralds the arrival of summer in Truckee like Truckee Thursdays. For those new to the area (or live in a cave on the summit), this summer staple is Truckee’s version of a street faire. Celebrate downtown Truckee as you enjoy live music, a farmers market, a beer garden (now serving margaritas), and an area for the kids to get wild as well.

New to the 2013 festivities is a corner stage located next to Moody’s Bistro Bar & Beats. The first band to play the new stage is Peter Joseph Burtt & the King Tide.

Also new are the $2 “Fresh Air Flicks” at California 89. They will be playing movies in the backyard of the store at 9pm on Thursdays and Saturdays. The first movie to hit the CA 89 screen is the Hitchcock classic, Rear Window.

Leave the car at home this year! The Old Jail Museum will host a bike valet for anyone pedaling into town, with donations going to the Truckee Donner Historical Society. Or if you live in Tahoe Donner, the TD Association is offering a free shuttle service from Trout Creek to downtown. The first shuttle leaves Trout Creek at 5pm and runs on the top of the hour. The shuttle from Truckee to TD starts at 5:30pm and runs on the bottom of the hour until 9:30pm.
