Shenanigans at the Ritz (aka Cadillac Ball)

So I'm a little late with this recap, but I just can't resist writing it because, wow, Truckee, that was impressive. It's good to know we haven’t completely surrendered to our jeans and Sorels.

Not only did everyone prove we can look amazing, but apparently, we can also party like rock stars. And all in the name of charity. (After all, Cadillac Ball is Truckee Rotary’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with 100% of the proceeds used to fund local projects, organizations, and charities.)

Seems Truckee needed an excuse to let its hair down, and, taking a cue from this year’s theme (burlesque), we did just that. Such a fun night of dining, drinking, and bootie shaking to my favorite local DJ – Silver Boombox Thief. And when the music stopped, some of the most fun was had at various after parties throughout the Ritz late into the evening. My lips are sealed, but if you were there or know anyone who was there, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

This year's $20,000 grand prize winner was (once again) Tally Brand, our town's luckiest lady. (This was her third time taking home Cadillac Ball raffle money!)

As Chair of this year’s Ball, I gratefully thank all of my wonderful volunteers and everyone who attended. And a huge thanks to all of our sponsors, especially Fifty Fifty Brewing Co, who sponsored our VIP Absinthe Lounge (to which many of the nights shenanigans can likely be attributed). Now I happily pass the baton (or is it a whip?) to my co-chair, saving grace, and next year’s Chair, Chip Huck.

Good job, Truckee. I think we all needed that. And we even managed to raise some much-needed money to help fund our community’s amazing non-profits. ‘Til next year…

A full gallery of all of the night's photos taken by the fabulous Court Leve can be found on the Cadillac Ball website.
